I have a light showing up on the dashboard about the tail lights on my '91 Camry Wag Any ideas on how to test the Tail Light Sensor?
were is it located?.Is there any way to do a Bypass? I'm new to the Toyota Arena so please be patient with me. Thanks for your time Jose. |

Easiest way to "bypass" it, is just to remove the bulb...I know plenty of people who have done it...just be sure that none of your bulbs are blown...and check your wiring in the rear to make sure nothing's shorting out, once it's been confirmed that there is no problem, remove the bulb.

Don't forget to check the center-mounted brake light.This is often overlooked.Different replacement lights will also trigger this due to different resistance between the sides.

It is located in the trunk, generally behind the left side wall of the trunk. Easiest way to check it is to unplug the two connector to it, open the yellow plastic inclosure and inspect the PC board for broken solder traces. This is generally the problem. Be aware if the tail light wiring harness is shorting out around trunk hinge area you need to fix that problem first.
