my protege engine overheat

plese help, my 1994 protege is overheating i replaced the water pump, head gasket timing belt and no help, water comes out the exhaust pipe or muffler, removed the head for the second time inspected and everything looks good but the problem still there. a mechanic told me to check the fuel injection sys because water goes thru there. can some one tell me how this system works, and any help will be appreciate.thanks
