The sprays are used usually on charcoal drawing, as well as graphite drawings when layering.

i dont usually spray because my previous drawings havent been exact, so every once and a while i fix things...

my 240sx i will spray and maybe the mandy moore drawing i did,,,but after a month trying to fix the HANDS...

anyways, you just use clear coat, im pretty sure any kind will work...mybe go to an art store and ask if they have any..if not..wal mart does

its just a spray paint that sprays clear...its good cuz if its in a book and the pages rub, it wont mess up the drawing...

sooo wal mart...clear coat thats what its called

Re: do u need any spary after done sketching?

I only use spray on my graphite drawings, I have my pencil sketches in a pile and they don't smudge, but I depends what you are going to do with the sketch.

Welcome to AF btw!

I used fixative once on graphite...hated it, it didnt work for me. But I have also used it on pastel, and it does work.

Really? I must use a different spray to you then, the one I use leaves no marks or anything, just makes it smudge less, also works well with charcol.

I think clear coat would work ok, although I have never tried it before. It's pretty inexpensive too, and you can find it at wal-mart. Its worth a try... the only problem might be that, if you put too much, your paper might start to absorb it, and it could deform the paper, or make it hard.

i did a huge charcoal drawing and i used spray on it just because it was hard to handle it without getting dirty. i don't like it becuase it makes it kinda glossy. ive heard of using hair spray also.
