lsvtec in the car, and here comes the question..

ok, the motor is in. when i went to start it it just turned over and didnt start. i checked fuel pump. it pumps so i have fuel. checked spark no spark. started diggin around and came out with some facts. i have an msd external coil. the coil has a positive connectoin and a negative connection. the problem comes in over here, im reading positive on both! i know the distributor is fine because i jest went to my friends house yesterday and put my distrubutor on his gsr and it woked fine. any help would be appreciated

it sounds like your msd has a short, is it new? power is not going through the coil but just streaght to ground

its new but im just using a master blaster external coil from msd. i know it has to do something with the wiring because the motor is a 94 gsr in a 98 civic.

you should be able to bench test that coil by giving power and when you take the power away it should colapse and spark to ground

Re: lsvtec in the car, and here comes the question..

i got some progress. when i turn the key to start the car my spark dissappears. when i throw a wire on the starter and try it that way my spark is there. but i have no compression at all because i had a valve job done so some of my valves were open im currently adjusting that, so ill fire it up before midnight cuz i have to go somewhere right now for a couple of hours
