Spray paint my 89

Any tips on how to spray paint my white crapolier? It's in pretty rough shape and I figure a darker color could hide some of the dents.

Any ideas on a different forum I could ask this question in?

Thanks in advance!

trust me. anything would make my rust bucket look better.

i paid 150 bucks for it, and im thinking of spraypaint as a cheap/easy(?) way to put a little personality in it and make it look like less of an eyesore.

Hmm... Painting rust will not improve it's looks.

I was you, I'd get a can o' Bondo and some fiberglass for the bigger holes and have a 'glom-a thon" in the driveway one weekend and get 'er all sanded down smooth and THEN look into paint.
Hey...ya bought the car cheap-so ya can afford to do it up.
But...that's only if I was you.

I'm doing some work to my '91 too. Grab the color you want from Pepboys or autozone go nuts. Get some painting tape from home depot, lowes, meijers... and tape some PLASTIC garbage bags to protect the parts you don't want to paint.

If you want to do a nice looking job then invest in primer, clearcoat, a water bottle/or sponge, and various sandpaper too.

Oh yeah... it'd take about a normal sized can to cover your hood (2 coats) so you can figure up how many you'd need.

If your going to go with spray paint the main thing to do is take your time. Dont try to cover it all in one coat or youll get drips. If you go slow and steady it could come out looking pretty good.

If you dont give a shit how it looks, pick up 6 cans of Krylon at Pep Boys, cover the windows and lights in masking tape, and paint it. Its not rocket science.

But if you want to hide dents, dark colors are not your friend.

Best of luck to you and your ill-fated endeavours.
