Whats wrong with my car??? High Revs

I have a 92 LS and its an Auto.
When i put my foot down, the revs go up to 7000rpms
the thing is its really slow, the speed only goes up to 60km/h i dont know how many miles that is. But everyone says that my trans is fucked and that its not meant to do that. One of them said that maybe my clutch pad is worn?? and that im making power buts its not getting to the wheels. I've never heard of changing clutch pads in an auto before.

Does any one know whats going on??? or is this how my car is meant to be cause if so im gonna get rid of it. oh yeah its got 180ks on its i dont know how many miles that is sorry.

you do not have a clutch. so there is no pads. you have a torque converter. more than likely that is the problem. a torque conveter is a clutch for an auto.

It can be a lot of different problems, I would start by checking the fluid level of the tranny, if it is low on fluid the torque converter will not lock up correctly. Actually if the fluid has not been changed in around 30K miles or less then I would change it as well. That is all you can do from the outside.

What I told him to do will only cost him about a couple of hours at the most if he is not familiar with working on his car and maybe $20-30.
Also how do you know it is completely broken? It may very well be the exact thing I told him it was. Try to be positive here or don't post!
