comparing cams

I need help in choosing a cam. I'm trying to decide between either magnumhydraulic roller cam, xtreme energy hydraulic roller cam, or a powermax hydraulic roller. The powermax claims to be the most powerful cam you can buy but I would say that too if I was trying to sell them. So if anyone has any opinions or input on any of these cams I would love to hear it. Thanks

Re: comparing cams

Bain, I ran a magnum hyd roller in my 383 small block chev from comp cams and it performed real well. I now have a big block chev with a crane solid lift roller it also does well. depends upon what you plan on doing with your car as to what type cam you should go with. once you decide, call one or more of the top name cam companies, tell them what you doing and get their pro opinion. thats what i did and everything worked out just fine. rdobbs

Re: comparing cams

whew. Don't just go by name/reputation. ONLY go by that. Also cam specs. Those are all noted and well known companies so i'd say go with the best price. If you can get one to give you pushrods and lifters that's cool go with that. And like rdobbs said. Give them a call that's what they are there for and they are always happy to help.

Beleive me I'm definately not choosing by brand alone, but the particular stats I'm looking for are available for all three and since they are all comp cams I was assuming there must have been something different to seperate them.
