what you think is the problem?

alrights i just bought my 88 convertible,164,000 miles on it...the engine is fine, sounds fine..like i told you from my old post my homeboy said the clutch blew out..i just want ideas from other rx7 owners about the problem..it moves in and out of gears just fine, the clutch pedal can be pressed and depressed just fine, but when he tries to drive it, it doesnt go any where. I might sound repetitive from my old post, but i got a chance to see it today in this condition..so what you guys think is the problem. Clutch? or Tranny?..thanks for the help and info

Re: what you think is the problem?

Sounds like the throw out bearing or linkage. Get under the car and look at the slave cylinder at the transmission bell housing and see if it moves when the pedal is pushed and released. If it does move correctly then you're going to have to split the transmision from the engine to find out if it is the clutch or throw out bearing. If those are OK then it's the transmission and you already have it out to work on it.
