Re: My First Person Drawing

uuuuhhh. what is up with those fingers? are they broken? the drawing is pretty damn good otherwise.

a rule of thumb (hehehehe): oddly or mishapen or badly drawn hands on people are distracting.

if you cannot fully mimic the photo and present what is there, then take artistic license and avoid drawing a strange version of the photo. even if the fingers look like that in the photo, it does not translate to the drawing convincingly. so abandon the fingers. or revise them. pose your own fingers in a better, less awkward way and use your own hand as reference to fix the picture. go ahead. you have permission to do this.

another rule: oddly or mishapen or badly drawn elipses on cars are distracting.

Re: My First Person Drawing

also, the hand is too massive for a female. women have smaller hands, typically, in proportion to their bodies than males. diminish her hand mass about 8-10%.

Re: My First Person Drawing

Its a pretty normal possison to have your hand like that. I didnt think it was distracting, i understood how the fingers were placed. I see alot of people with there hands like that, especially in photographs and stuff like that.

Re: My First Person Drawing

it ain't no prob, man. just change it. get an electric eraser, photocopy the hand down 10%, look at your own hand in a mirror a bit to alter the finger positions just a wee bit, and shazaaaammm!!! you're back in the saddle again.
