suspension - poor ride quality

I have an '03 extended cab 2wd silverado. The only changes from stock are 20's with goodyear 295/50's and a 2" drop in the back. My ride sucks. The truck bounces or "hops" at highway speeds. Tires, wheels, and shocks have been checked and rechecked. Some stretches of road are better than others, so I am sure that I am feeling the road. The dealer says it's a characteristic of the long wheel base and light rear end. Any suggestions on improving the ride quality of this truck would be appriciated.

Lowering the truck will give it a little stiffer ride. I really don't know why your truck is so bouncy. And it's also hard to tell how bouncy it is to you. You may notice it, but others trucks may ride the same and not notice it. Check to make sure all shocks are correctly installed and tightened correctly. The wheels shouldn't have anything to do with it. You may just live in an area with bad, bouncy roads.

Re: suspension - poor ride quality

Actually...if you inflate those big tires to their rating you will get a bouncy ride. Also if you don't haul or tow something you can wear the tire centers out. They are meant to carry a load and your truck is too light empty. I run my 50psi tires at 45psi and it rides better. It rides great when I have some weight in the back
