Timing belt for 1983 Supra
I am new to the Supra world and have my eye on a 1983 supra with 26K orignal miles. I am thinking the timing belt needs to be replaced avery 60K miles or so, but what about length of time?
21 years is a looooong time I think on the orignal timing belt (if it has yet to be replaced). How many YEARS can a belt safely be left on its own before it should be replaced? Thanks, jeff |

Yes you have the milage right, definetly replace it because of the age though. Rubber degrades over time and after 21 years I imadgine it's probably dry rotted
Congradulations on finding such an awesome, low milage MKII, |

Re: Timing belt for 1983 Supra
I have yet to see the car. I agree, the miles are hard to beleive. But the fella owns a car repair business and he appears to be on the up an up.
If I ge the car, or get piks at least, I will post here. Thank you for the reply ![]() Jeff |
