rebuilding a car

I've got a 1990 buick lesabre that's getting close to 150k. I've visited several websites and i've found pics of some really cool stuff that people have done to these cars. I'd like to rebuild it and do lots of custom stuff to it because you don't see a lot of these cars done up and i'd like to do something different/out of the ordinary. I'd like to get a body kit for it, but have no idea where to start looking. any ideas? I also saw a pic of one that had an air bag suspension. How hard would it be to do something like that? where could i get those parts? Last but not least, the engine: I'd like to fabricate a turbo system for it, but am unsure of how to start that project. would supercharging be a better route, and if so does anyone know how to fit a supercharger to a series I 3800? also, what kind of engine internals would i need and how would i mod the ecu to get the fuel/timing to work with the super? the uderside of the car is in pretty good shape, except for the engine cradle. It's pretty rusted and could use a good fix. is this something i could order from gm, or would i have to sand down the old one, reweld any broken parts and repaint it? thanks for all the help!!!

Re: rebuilding a car

If the cradle is rusted, I would suggest get one from a wrecking yard. It's much cheaper than a dealer. You could get an engine, and transaxle on a subframe, removed in one piece from a supercharged LeSabre or Bonneville, and it should bolt right in. You would need all the electronic engine controls and wiring harness from the supercharged car. It's a lot of work, though.

what years car would i need to get a supercharged engine out of inorder for it to fit? also, since i would need all the wiring and the computer, how would i hook up the speedo ( im assuming whatever is in a bonneville will not match the wiring for the speedo in my car. also, does anyone know where i could find a more aggressive camshaft for a series 1 3800? Do they make roller rockers and a roller timing chain that will fit it?
