Progress: Jeep Willys MB

I've started building the 1/35 scale Tmiya Willys MB that I've had for a while but haven't the time to build.

Pic of the chassis and engine assembled but unpainted. Most of the parts on this will be painted olive drab once I get a new airbrush to do it with.

Pic of the chassis with the front/rear axles and front/rear driveshafts fitted.

Pics of the body from the side, front, and bottom.

Here are some pics of another project I'm working on too. The first is a scratchbuilt trestle bridge made of 1/8" balsa wood for an N scale model railroad. The second is a completed coal depot placed on the layout.

Sorry for the crappy pictures. Will post more progress sometime soon.

Any comments are welcome, whether good or bad, so post away.

Re: Progress: Jeep Willys MB

I built that model in highschool as part of a social studies project.... I researched the ol' Jeep and stuff.... Probably the funnest model I'd ever put together. Don't really know what about it that was so fun, but it was. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. and cool railroad models... do you have a layout? I don't have the room for it, but if I did.... Anywho, keep us updated.

I'll post more tomorrow with some of the other parts when I get them assembled.

Armor models seem to be more fun than cars to me. I also work much better in smaller scales, so that might why. The molding of the kit is as good as or better than some of the 1/24 Tamiya cars that I have bought before. For the railroad, it's only 1'x3' right now, but we're thinking of moving sometime in the coming months to a bigger house. My brother will be moving out, so my sister and I will each have two rooms to ourselves, with one of mine being the gameroom and hers being my brother's room.

Here's an earlier pic of the layout when I first got started. I've done a lot more since I took that pic a while back.

And as you can see, my room is really small. There's about 6' worth of space in front of me in this pic, and about 4' on my left side.
