4x4 ride is horrible

I have a 1991 chevy s-10 4x4 with a towing package helper springs and rear air shocks(with 10psi in them). the rear shocks have 25 k on them. This truck rides like a radio fyler wagon! If i replace all 4 shocks with good gas shocks would that help my ride? My dad says no but i have a neighbor whos says differnt and offered to help install new shocks! would it be worth the money? I can only think it could help!

Any help or Hints advice would be great!

Thanks Derek

It is a truck, so it's not going to ride like a car. You could crank your torsion bars down a little, that will soften the ride up front. Do you do a lot of towing/hauling that you need air shocks?

Shocks are not your problem. Check out the tires and wheels first. then look into all the parts related to the steering.

Re: 4x4 ride is horrible

That year nad model of S-10 is famous for a horrible ride when they have some miles on them. It is mostly attributed to soft rubber used mostly in the front suspension. When they get old they deform easy and allow things to move a little more then they should. If you intend to keep this truck I would look into a good quality urethane bushing kit from prothane, daystar or the likes.
