very nice drawings...but theres sum common problems in most of them...like the wheels. You need to work on elipses (more info in faq...i think) the abflug supra looks pretty cool.. the front is a little twisted and theres sum proportion issues,,, but i like it...it's your best one IMO

the supra, silvia, and skyline look like they are melting...but they still look interesting

i would suggest using the grid method to help you out with your proportions and take more time on your drawings...if you rush a drawing, the product will look rushed...take your time and your art will look much better.

and once you have the proportions on...you should definately shade.remember, go dark to light, there should be black values and white values (most of the time). don't do what you're doing now which is just smudging sum pencil in random spots...

i like them all...i didn't talk about the scions because im not really into those...you have talent, now you just need to take the time to perfect your works...<<that sounded like something chad would say

Re: Come Check out a Few of my drawings!

Looks like you have used the grid method a little. When using the grid method, use very small squares. I usually have about 600 squares on an A4 size pad (8x11).

Also with the grids make them lighter as well, and then erase them. They really detract from the drawing.

Work on some proportions, ellipses, shading...and you will get better. Also, try to use a .5mm mechanical pencil to get crisper lines.

Thanks guys for the great feedback... SecretModder thanks now i really know what to work on....GTMike I use a very small sketching pad its a 8 1/2x5 1/2 pad... I might get a new one this week... Which kind of sketching pad should I get I don't want to spend a lot of money either but if I have to I might as well... I've looked at the tutorials for ellipses numerous times but I just can't seem to get the hang of it.. I need more help... I was planning to get a stencil of ellipses.. Should I get one? Thanks guys....

-Ran

P.S I plan to take more time like 2 hours not an hour...

well i dont really draw anymore....but when i did i usually took about 3-6 hours on my good drawings...mechanical pencil is your friend....lol...um invest in some high quality erasers such as Staedtler. the easiest way to get proportions down is to find some pictures of cars in magazines and just copy the lines (not trace) i mean like look at the lines and draw them exactly how you see them with regard to spacing and length. if u can do this then your finished product will be nicely proportioned and soon enough you will be able to draw it without a guide photo. i would include some of mine but i think i deleted them..

I cant seem to use Mechanical Pencils because they always break when I use them and I get frustrated when they break and I find out I have no more lead... Is there any other option I can use besides a Mechanical pencil? I use a Sanford DESIGN Drawing 3800 HB pencil... If its the wrong pencil it's because I took it from my older brother (hehe) besides he wasn't drawing anymore.... Is there any graph paper thats like a sketch pad? GTMike you said you use about 600 squares isn't that an awful lot? I might go to the art store maybe Saturday... So I got awhile...

Re: Come Check out a Few of my drawings!

Hey Golden,

Welcome to AF.

The best thing you can do is draw more. Just practice, and relax. It's not like you have to have it perfect by tomorrow. It's a long journey...enjoy the trip.

For your ellipses try to sketch them in lightly before you draw a hard line. Sometimes it helps to draw the whole tire even if it's tucked under a wheel well. Remember it's like a tinker toy. 2 rounds 1 stick. Light guidelines help.

Good luck.

Re: Come Check out a Few of my drawings!

The reason I used to use 600 squares is because I was drawing posterboard size cars, 35 Squares long, 17 squares high. Each square was 1/2" to 3/4" size. This is done on a pad thats 18x28.

Up there I made a mistake, 60 squares, 12 long, 5 high.

Get a mechanical pencil, no ands, ifs, or buts. They crispen up drawings 100%
