Adding another amp??

hey right now i currently have this amp http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....at03085&cmp=++ hooked up to 2 12" jvc subs asu can see here http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/584283. my question is every now and then my amp will cut out and then kick back in in 5 mins or so. i was wondering can i add another smaller amp to this setup to help out my current amp. also if i do do this can anyone suggest which amp would be good for around 200$ and can anyone explain how i would install this 2nd amp. thanks peace

Re: Adding another amp??

what impedance are the subs (single 4ohm I'm assuming?)

It really just sounds like you have the gain turned up too high, what's it set at

Re: Adding another amp??

If your amp is cutting out its not because it needs help..

If these are the subs you have..do you have them wired to 2 ohm? series/parallel? If this is so then you probably are giving them pretty good power from that Kenwood amp..may not be meeting the subs rms tho. IMO I'd sell the Kenwood amp and buy a JBL 1200.1 (apprx. $280) and send 600w to each sub..they say that the peak is 1000w on your sub so I think they'd handle it pretty well and sound ALOT better.

btw..how do they sound now?
