Re: exhaust
The downpipe can be an o2 eliminator, which means it replaces the o2 sensor housing, that usually flows much better.
External wastegates that are mounted on the o2 sensor housing (they can be there OR on the exhaust manifold) have dump tubes that go back into the exhaust, or ones that just go out into the air. |

Re: exhaust
my car is VTA.. not saying to do it but its loud as hell and i have no problems with it.... but every car takes it different so i would not recommend you doing it unless you have quite a bit of DSM experience under your belt

Re: exhaust
I wouldn't consider it on an internal gate. Externally, it doesn't affect anything (one could argue that it raises turbulence if recirculated too soon), so it's choice. It's only loud when the wastegate OPENS, which is only when you hit full boost. With WOT being loud enough to get pulled over by the cops for, I don't think it increases any risk of being too loud. I personally want to get mine dumped because I'm a closet ricer. There are a few clips floating around, one belonging to Dre aka dre99gsx on www.dsmtuners.com. Extremely emissions illegal if you couldn't guess.
