door trim

im swappin in the new door for the RS today, and need to take off the top trim on the door, its just held on by christmas trees right??? nothing special im forgetting about??? ive never had to go into my doors before, so im not really sure about this one.

i think it is just the pins (trees), but up top you have to slide it off or something. I am pretty sure yours are the same as a 4th gen, but I Have not had mine off in about 3 years.

you kinda have to lift up and slide, jiggle it man just think of... well i better not say (might get booted again)..........lol I know its sounds weird but thats how mine came off

the black piece above the door? something A lol i dont know on both of my camaros those little clips broke soo easy , just shattered from the sun so good luck

Most door panels are pretty much the same... Pop out the 'trees' and take off the door handles a trim peices that you can access with a screwdriver. When you get to the top piece, roll the window down (I find this helps) and push in and up with short easy jabs. I just went through the same process on my car this morning.... worked like a charm.

its the RS, where the lady T-boned me, so i bought a new door from the junkyard, cleaned it up had it painted black, and now i gotta swap over all the parts from the original door, trim, regulator, window glass, side view mirror, all that, so thats what im gettin into. i figured it was just the trees, but thought id check before i broke something.
