Question for 98-02 T/A WS6 owners

Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum. I have a question for T/A WS6 owners. I’m a long time Mustang fan and will be in the market soon to get another 2nd fun car. I lost my 92 Mustang a few years back and am ready to get another “fun” car. After ’93 the Mustang has enough room for a GI Joe doll, and they were horrible looking to me. The 2000’s are nicer looking but still, there’s no room. I’m 6’6 so I have a hard time finding something I can get into as it is. My question, I’m really getting interested in the 98-02 T/A WS6. They’re great looking cars and for what I read have plenty go handle and go. I sat in a friend’s car which is 98 T/A WS6, but never driven it. It seemed to have a little more room. Are there any taller drivers out there that have had good luck inside the cockpit?

Im 6'2'' and own an 00 ws6 trans am. I think the front seats will easily accomodate someone of your height, but (if you ever chose too) riding in the back seats would be impossible. IMO the thing you will find hardest is getting out of the car because you are a tall guy and the car is so very low. As stated earlier im 6'2'' and with around an average body build(230) and getting in the car is easy enough, but getting out is more like "rolling" to your feet. Thats my only criticism about the car. As far as speed/handeling/performance/etc. of the car it is probably the best all around car I have ever owned. It corners extemely well, braking is excellent, and it can outrun 90% of the cars you will see on the street. My trans am is roughly 4 years old and I know I can sell it tomorrow and get damn near what I paid for it. These cars hold their value very well and with GM not making anymore, they are only going to go up in value. I hope this little unofficial review helps.

Rob

Thank you, I appreciate the review. I’ve noticed that the value seems to be holding. I looked a 01 last night with 8k on it. They were asking $24,000. That seems a bit high, but then again it was a dealer. I’ve seen a bunch of 01 for around $18,000. I guess having that nice of a car, I can deal with rolling out of it. I just a funny picture of motoring around trying to look all cool and then rolling/sliding out of it. Anyway, thanks again. Looks like I’m leaning a lot more towards a T/A now.

I'm 6'6 and quite comfortable in my 2001 Trans Am (not a WS6 but I don't see how that makes any difference at all ).
