Gauges are off, needle problem?

OK, so I did the whole "DIY Custom Gauges" I didn't break any needles, or do anything funky.

1) The fuel gauge is off because i filled it up friday, and now it says in running on empty.

2) The Rpms start off at 3rpms....not right.

3) I drive a standard, and it seems that the speed at which I used to change gears is not the same. I made sure that the gauges matched up perfectly.

Anyone have ANY idea what I can do?

Re: Gauges are off, needle problem?

When I put my gauges on I didnt even take the needles out...I just slid them over the needle. The only one i had problem with was the small center gauge face (temp and gas) and what i did was take off the gauge face, put a piece of 2 sided tape down, and stuck the gauge face back on and everything was back to normal

Before I put the 2 sided tape down, I think the gauge face wasn't completely flat so it was touching the needle, therefore not letting it be where it should be at.

well you know whats wrong so adjust in you head what it should be at. not a hard solution and helps prevent idiots from wantin to drive your car. Scare them about how powerful the engine is that i needs to rev at 3k or it will stall out or something.
