Had one in our Olds a couple years ago. Worked fine and sounded OK. Mine was a Pioneer, they make pretty good stuff in my opinion.

I've had about three FM mod CD changers myself and I am planning on putting one in my 96 SS, because my Bose CD sucks. It keeps spitting cd's out.

Re: Any bad experience with using a universal CD Changer (FM type)?
I just got myself a Pioneer DEH-P3600 cd receiver. i am planning to remove my Delco bose stereo unit and put in the Pioneer unit. Does that gonna make me lose the "Bose effect"? I head that only the actual Delco Bose headunit can create the "Bose" effect with its factory speakers. I am just gonna join (splice) the Pioneer unit wires into the vehicle factory harness. I am just wondering will this sounds better than before, or probably worse.. Any inputs on this?

Re: Re: Any bad experience with using a universal CD Changer (FM type)?
I wouldn't recommend "splicing" into the factory harness and using the bose speakers. The bose camaro speaker system has self powered speakers, in other words little amps located with each speaker. If you send a high level input into a system that is designed for low level your going to have some problems. You could mess up your brand new deck and fry the bose amps. If your going to replace the head unit just plan on buying a adapter that convertes high level to low, or rewire the car and put new speakers in...

Hey 96camaroSS,

Re: Re: Any bad experience with using a universal CD Changer (FM type)?
I believe this kit should work... It says that it converts high level to low level. This kit also lets you add aftermarket amps to a stock system. Give it a try if it doesn't work take it back.
