got 16k to spend PLEASE help!
hey guys...a little background...
i just sold a Merc '89 560SEC. its a 5.5l v8 with 290lbs of low down torque. it was pretty powerful for a 2 ton boat. one time my blood wouldnt cool down when an integra shot passed by me with a civic chasing it. it was raining on this twisty road i was on. so i had to floor it. i put the lever on 2d so its in 2nd gear and went around a lefty. i started gaining on the civic since my corner entry was faster...BUT, what do you know... oversteer on the way out! i did manage to correct it with some opposite lock but that was a little too scary since there's ditches on both sides of that road... |

okay now i have 16k to spare. i'll tell you what i am looking for (ideally): appearance is definately important with a cool, modern, techy interior. i am at a stage in life where appearance of the car matters more than how fast the car goes. thought i'd make that clear (i've taken many courses at driving schools all over and have decent car control
). i'd want a rwd light weight sedan that looks awesome with a hot interior, is practicle and can lap pretty quick. an M5 comes to mind, but dont have that kind of money yet![]() the reason i told that story above is cuz i could buy a 240sx, awesome car. but really, you cant control yourself in that situation while being in a car like the 240sx. i'd floor it and maybe get the powerslide right, maybe not. and that maybe not is scary. so, unless you guys can tell me about a rwd hot car with traction control for under 16k, help me decide between some other cars... maybe a 99 or above jetta...1.8 or v6? consider exhaust note and front/back ration please RSX (why would i chose it over the type S?) why would a 2001 impreza 2.5 RS be a bad choice? its awd, weighs 2800lbs and has plenty of power...come on guys, help me please |

RWD hot car with traction control for under 16K...the 99-04 Mustang GT would work. There aren't many RWD sedans still around, and most of them aren't lightweight. If you just don't want FWD, the Impreza 2.5 RS is a good choice, or if you can afford an extra few thousand in the long run, get an Impreza WRX...there's no way a Civic will blow by you in the rain when you're in one of those :P

buy a car that would make you happy. I would buy a mid-90's BMW (If i could find one, I would definately get an M3).

Insurance will probably be too high on a BMW.
