Cool black chrome inner housing????

i have a 96 tl and i was jus wondering if anyone tried making the chrome part of their headlights a black chrome like many of the cars are coming out with today??
you know like Japan spec headlights for the 94 accord...a dark black chrome inner housing.
if anyone has tried it....please tell me what you used to make it look good...and if also you have any pics to post with it

Blk chrome headlites on a 96 TL!? Now, that's different!
I would think that you would need to learn to remove them from the car. (Look for some bolts underneath the car and screws in the fenderwells holding the bumper in place.) You might need to remove the bumper. Then, you can remove the lites.
To open them up... (this may sound absurd but, it works & makes it easier)... stick them in the oven for a few minutes to warm up the adhesive/sealant. Take them out of the oven and slowly seperate the lens from the housing. Once seperated, you can either paint the housings to your desired color. After having dried, you can apply CLEAR silicone adhesive/sealant and put everything back together nice and snug. Make sure you have a good seal to prevent moisture from getting in! Let those sit for a while and reinstall everything.
This was the process I used to clear my wife's 90 Mitsu Mirage corner lens but, I left the passenger's side in the oven for a bit long and the lens are warped/f*cked up. (That's ok... I need to find parts for the car anyway... :hehe: )

hey thanks for the reply but i think you missed interpreted me. i already know how to remove the headlight and how to take it apart...
it's just the part of what to use to paint it so that it looks like the other dark inner housing headlights out there on cars.
anyone got any ideas to work????
is there such a thing as black chrome paint?????

Oh, I see...
Whatever you do... DON'T apply paint on the rear chrome part. That's the reflector you don't want to mess with. Just color the sides...

Perhaps, you can do that with the corners...
