Rocker Arm noise on 97 2.4L
I have a 1997 Galant ES, 2.4L SOHC. The rockers or lifters are giving off some noise. Took it apart, nothing broken but still get a tap. Is there a way to adjust them or what?

Hydraulic lifters are renowned for making a tappety noise on the 4g63 and the 6a13. Could be the same thing. It is a case of removing each adjuster and cleaning, or fitting one with a bigger lubrication hole.
Usually cause by crud or air being jammed in the lifter. It can sometimes be cured by flushing the engine oil several times, or by having an extra oil change between services. Look here: http://www.lancerregister.com/showth...h&pagenumber=1 |
