Keeping a 240sx

Hows the 240sx room doing? in my future plans i am thinking seriously about a 240sx. what i have noitced about this car is that its one of the best tools if one wants to drift (satisfaction and price) in one in my past i have studied about the 84-87 toyota corolla coupe i have noticed it costs 2-3k dollars (wont hurt your feelings if you hit it against something for racing activities) i also have been told that it has a strong engine but its a great car if one lives in japan because of parts availability. i have on the internet noticed that if one gets an sr20det its a good investment but if one gets an rb20det it would take a long time for the engine to be installed in the car and parts would be harder and inconvenient to find (repair and modifications) if you live in the states, is that right?? if i posessed a 240sx i understand that aftermarket parts are strong but what about repair parts? (if i decide to race with the car) i also wonder if it makes much a difference if one gets an sx se or le s14 type models on performance packages if one is going to drop in an sr engine. for one i am a nismo fan and i love their designs but in comparison to the 300zx this car looks like a toy car while the 300zx looks like a super car i just wonder how the 240sx would do in attracting the opposite sex if i preferred getting one

any advice would be appreciated
thanks for your time

every repair i have ever had to do, it was done with a performance part. Anypart that i couldnt find a performance replacement i got off ebay or from a junkyard. This car has been very cheap to maintain. Very reliable, only problem i have ever had with this car is, air condition stopped working, radio stopped working, cable that pulls the window up got tangled in the gear, and now the valve cover is leaking a little but its probaly just a gasket. This is a 1989 240sx, i am the second owner and the first owner never changed anything, still stock battery, clutch, wipers, everything was original when i bought it.

I personaly wouldnt go with the RB swap, parts are rare and whatnot. SR swap is pretty easy and i am planning on doing it within the next half of this year. I was only worried about the wiring but i researched that and its very doable.

From my experiance, chicks dig a glossy black S13 fastback with stock alloys, tinted windows with the 91+ front bumper.

95% of the 240's i see are peices of shit. Hatch rust, ugly paint, ugly rims so if you get one you will probaly have to work on its appeal.

most of the time i only see girls driving S14's so apparently they like them.

Im not to sure about trim levels. SE is better tho.
