Unhappy I broke my car installing my system HELP

I just bought a 2002 blazer. I spent forever trying to hook up my system and after a few hours I finally got it to work. It worked for about 5 min. then the bass shut off, then the amp, then the whole car. My car wont start and when I turn the key its silent (every once in a while ill hear clicking). I took everything apart and the car still wont start. If anyone has any ideas what the problem could be I would appreciate your input.

Re: I broke my car installing my system HELP

sounds like you shorted the +12 to the ground without a fuse and drained your battery

Re: I broke my car installing my system HELP

I put a fuse in and grounded it, I think I might have messed something up when I pulled out the receiver to connect the power connection wire.

Re: I broke my car installing my system HELP

There is a fuse next to the battery attached to the power wire that runs from the amp to the battery. I grounded the amp.

Re: I broke my car installing my system HELP

oh right, I thought you said you fused the power wire and then grounded it to the chassis, haha

Still sounds like something is grounding out somewhere though

my friend is having the same problem.. i have a feeling it is the remote turn on wire.. might have shorted in the head unit.. which would actually have destroyed the head unit.. its rare.. but when you try everything else.. then..

well if your battery is drained you're going to have to recharge it, unplugging everything won't do a thing

Re: I broke my car installing my system HELP

I still had some power (dashlights) until about an hour ago. Now the battery is completely dead.
