Inserted CD always sticks when it is hot outside
My '95 Aurora single in-dash CD player always seems to refuse to either play or eject the CD when it is hot out after ignition is shut down with CD loaded and later restarted. In cold weather, no problems. Get an E23 error message when attempting to either play or eject. Once the car cools down, I can eject the CD. Weird... any thoughts/suggestions/experience?
Thanks, Bruce |

Re: Inserted CD always sticks when it is hot outside
These stereos just seem to be cranky. I've yet to hear any good solutions other than replace it with another Delco unit. You lose your date on the DIC and the steering wheel controls if you go with an aftermarket stereo.
Search for older posts on this. There are many. |

Re: Inserted CD always sticks when it is hot outside
Is it a burnt CD? Some CD's are thicker than others and lock up until cooled down.
My parents had 3 radios replaced under warranty in their Duramax for the same problem, switched CD's never happend again. |

cd
switch cds? go thinner? mine does the same. i get the eror message sometimes. i found being a bit patient works. sometimes you have to turn the unit off and wait. it does seem to build up a lot of heat. using a cd player cleaner might help. don't leave a cd in when not listening t one. if u just have enough best bet is to get an xm radio or a new deck that can play mp3 encoded cds. transfer a bunch of tunes onto one cd on a computer. best bang for buck right now is circuitcity. free installation with any unit over $99. if concerned with losing controls on wheel then get a unit with a remote and velcro it near or on wheel.
