Fuel Pump!!
My fuel pump seems loud. You can hear it after driving a few miles while you stand outside the car. Can anyone else hear their pump while standing outside or is mine slowly going bad.
+ has anyone priced or changed there pump out...would be nice to see what I might be getting into.

Re: Fuel Pump!!
The fuel pump (kit) itself is kinda spendy- like 2-300 bucks. It should be easy to do though. There is a little silver access hatch inside the trunk to get at it inside the gas tank. Just try not to drop too much crap in there...
FYI, I can't hear mine. You are listening back by the gas tank, right? |

Its if you stand anywhere around the rear of the car from the back doors on. If its a real hot day or I'm driving alot then it can be heard rather easy.

Re: Fuel Pump!!
Do you have any other symptoms that might indicate a fuel pump problem? I'm thinking that the compressor for the rear shocks is pretty damn loud...
If that really is your fuel pump making THAT much noise, I'd be worried about it getting hot and/or sparking or something. I can't tell you what a fuel pump sounds like, but I do know I've never heard one. |
