P0430 DTC Code - 2000 Maxima SE

Dear 2000 Nissan Maxima Owners;

I have a 5 speed Maxima SE that runs great except that once a week the Service Engine Soon light appears and when I inspect the DTC it says P0430 - which is a Catalytic Converter Inefficiency Low - Bank 2 error.

I have already replaced both Oxygen Sensors (before and after the converter) in Bank 2.

The car has absolutely no other trouble symptoms of any kind - and the engine doesn't appear to change it's performance at all before and after the light comes on.

I've experienced/replaced bad Oxygen sensors, bad ignition coil errors, etc. for years and I'm hoping for a better solution than spending another $100.00 Diagnostic Fee to see what's happening.

Your ideas and thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Jim Nitzberg

Your nissan dealer has a new program for your cars computer to correct your problem. If the car already has the new program it will require you to replace the cat on bank 2
