Is the Venture a vechile you would keep ?
I Own a 2000 Venture Van and like to drive it, but I am hearing stories of constant and expensive repairs after 4 or 5 years of normal use. To me it looks like a van that is going to be hard to work on. The fact is, I have been offered a good trade in and can not make up my mind. What has been your experience?

Trade it....if i could get even a thousand less than what i owe on mine i would trade it in a heart beat...ON SECOND THOUGHT, keep it...You wouldn't want to buy another one would you???
PS......Ventures are very problematic...trade it and get a new Chysler T&C...with the stow and go seats!

I have a 2000 venture, I love it, she's smooth, spacious, if your not having problems, keep driving it unitl the engine falls out. Minor problems always come up, regular preventive maintance.

I have a 1998. Other than the intake manifold gasket problemo it has been a real workhorse. However, this was a big ticket item ($800). Now, at 137k miles I'm having overheating problems and wondering how to change the back 3 spark plugs. (this is why I joined the forums page). But it's my own fault. I have NOT done anyting to it other than Gas/Tires/Oil. But, with all the problems I am reading about on this forum I'm fixing it to unload. The problems I've read about are BIG $ to fix. Many are unexplainable! They cost extra!

Our '99 runs great. My dad's '98 has 215,000 miles on it with no major problems.

My '97 has 127k on it and it still runs like a banshee. I wouldn't take anything less that $4000 over book on it. Regular party on wheels.

I always buy new and do the preventive maintence. My '99 Venture has 140,000 miles. Best car I've ever had, still runs smooth and strong with excellent gas mileage and zero oil burning. My last was a 96 Grand Caravan. What a piece of crap that was, albeit a very attractive one.

2000 Venture
I have a 2000 venture that waited until we were 4k miles out of warranty to start falling apart. CD player quit, little pieces of interior breaking, trans starting to slip, something wrong with heating system (in shop today). Also tapping or knocking noise in engine, not from low oil because we keep oil changed. $53 for the little door for the garage remote and $94 for the front seat cupholder!
