Digital horsepower

Would a pcm from a different car work on my car? When they ask for your vin# is it so they can access your pcm or is it needed to match something on your car?

Re: Digital horsepower

No the VIN is not important....
and as long as you dont use a 2003 or a 1997 PCM it should work fine

Re: Digital horsepower

I have a 98 and I found this used pcm for the same year, I was just worried that the vin will be a problem.

Re: Digital horsepower

As long as the computer you found is for the same engine you have (L67 or L36). I would say that even from a year before or after will work with your car(this is true only on 97 to 03 models)
