Jacking points on a 84

Just purchased a 84 with the z51 package and was wondering about the jacking points for a floor jack. is it ok to place the jack on the center of the front crossmember to lift the front end and where to put the jack to raise the rear?
Thanks
Lowell

If your body tub is original, look under the door openings for an arrow symbol pointing downwards molded into the body. These are the recommended jacking points where the frame is re-inforced for jacking. I've done the cross member jacking on the front with both good and bad results. If you do this (not recommended), watch for buckling that may occur on the cross member.
I would strongly recommend using the specified jacking points at all 4 locations. It's rather tedious doing it this way, but less harmfull than
jacking on flimsy structural points not meant for that purpose.
Good luck.
