New problem....what the crap could it be?

OK about three weeks ago I had a y8 head put on my car. Since I got it back it's been lagging and feels powerless. It also seems like it is burnign more oil than usual.

Well I changed the oil Sat. and we went to the drag strip. Well a couple days go by and now it's Tues. I am going down the interstate to the mall and I am running about 90. Well when I take it out of gear it quits. Well for the next 4-5 miles to the mall it would either quit when I take it out of gear or sink down to about 2-300 rpm and shake and the oil light would flash. I was like what the crap.

We got done at the mall and I come out and start it and it does fine. We start going down the interstate home and a friend in a integra, del sol, and I start "racing" not really racing just messing around. No cars around so nothing dangerous, we were only going like 80-85. Well the integra is in front of me and I am beside the del sol and my car starts knocking. It keeps getting louder and louder, take it out of gear and it quits.

Well I get out check the oil and it is bone dry.I'm like WTF! So the guy in the sol had pulled over with me. We go to the gas station I buy three quarts of oil. Put that in, start it and the knocking instantly goes away and she purs like a kitten. Go about 5 miles down the road and it starts knocking again, get out check it, it's freaking dry again. What the crap could be making it leak oil this bad? Theres no way it's burning it I would have a freaking smoke cloud a mile long burning that much oil.

It was dark and I couldn't see so I just had it towed to the shop.

yes Something like your oil filter must be loose. I'm curious too, can you tell where it's leaking? Spray your engine off with a high pressure sprayer then run it.

Re: New problem....what the crap could it be?

You *should* be leaking oil somehow if there was no smoke present, possibly leaking from headgasket, valve cover or dizzy seal.(This is assuming that you only took the head off and thats it)
A couple thing you should do:

-Check spark plugs for signs of oil on them
-Do a compression test
-Make sure you took off the oil control jet on the block before you put the y8 head on it.

Worst case could be that the y8 head has bad valve stem seals on it causing the oil to stream down the valves into your combustion chamber.

knocking is nooo good, you might be screwed...

sounds like the shop messed up some random easy procedure and it turned out to be a big problem.
