it is posibly the best game of its type, graphics are movie like, cars are so realistic (driving wise). the only game it wont beat will be GTA: San Andreas when that comes out in 22nd october (britain). but its still got plenty of time to make its mark before it is pushed under.

Re: driver3

the graphics are real nice and the accidents are top notch, but the controls are terrible, plus there are many problems with the game in general, overall i would pick up, the getaway, any GTA game, way before i buy this game.

I agree with the graphics. Lots of famous voices too, Michael Madsen, Michele Rodriguez, and a few more. I am fine with the controls, it helps if u have played the previous Driver games. I don't see how you can find so many things wrong with this game.

Re: driver3

IMO, all the famous voices are just to boost the sell-ability of the game, to make it more appealing to fans of the celebrities.......idk, I'll prolly end up buying it anyways

I love(d) this game. It is absolutely beautiful, but i do have to agree that there were enough issues to make me save my money for GTA-SanA. This game has two features that make it stand out, graphics and physics. And the movie editer was pretty fun. But thats not enough to push it over the top. I can't believe you couldn't change the controls, they took some serious getting used to. The linear gameplay is dated and honestly obsolete. The plot direction is weak and confusing, focusing on style and not storytelling. And it just plain got old. I had the game for 5 days (blockbuster) and that was enough. I used to own the original driver for pc (which blew the console version out of the water, faster, more traffic) and i would play whenever i needed to kill 15 minutes. But it was just a time killer. Same goes for three. After a few hours, theres nothing new left to do. I tried to make some cool movies, but they stop recording about 2 minutes after you load a map. Eventually, your just reliving old memories over and over again.
I give the driver series serious credit for having possibly the most enjoyable physics ever compiled, coupled with police and traffic. In the end though, im not sure it was worth it. I kinda wish i'd never played it, now the San Andreas cars are gonna feel like im driving a shopping cart. Can't I have both, open ended, living gameplay with kiss-your-ass-goodbye physics? Perhaps, but in order to run it, they'd have to take the processing bite in the graphics. and honestly, I'm all for it. You want movie like graphics, watch a movie. You want a seriously realistic and expansive gaming experience, cut your poly budget and put all your eggs into the gameplay basket. Imagine what kind of processing power would be left if an XBOX game had the model detail of the PS1.

Thumbs down

I LOVED this game when I first bought it. But now its just repetetive and there are a lot of levels I've been stuck on. I've found all the special cars except In Istanbul since I haven't unlocked it yet.(there are 3 in each city) driver 2 was better in some ways, cause there were 4 cities instead of 3, and the cities seemed bigger with more to do. This is better that Driver 2 though of course, there is shooting and I like the boats and motorcycles, you can run over people and the cops are a LOT more realistic. Good Graphics and the cutscenes, man. THE CUTSCENES ARE GREAT! they make you feel like you're in a movie. I still wish I would have got GTA 3 and VC for $40 instead of this for $50 though

Re: driver3

It really just makes the world feel real when you play it. And yes the graphics are some of the best for the genre. It still stuns me every time I play it how pretty the reflections and stuff are. But it's the story and goodies that really bring it down in the dumps.

This game is awsome. I love to just blow up the cars for the cool effects. It hasn't gotten good ratings though because they all say there is a big problem with glitches. I never had that problem. Even so the game is still good.
