Considering a 240SX

Okay, right now I have an Eclipse, but the time has come to upgrade, and I'm really feeling a 240. My friend has one, and its a blast to drive. So, with $7000 (FROM SELLING MY ECLIPSE) what can I expect to get/ what would b the best to get? BTW, i live in CA, so for some ungodly reason inflation on used cars sucks here.

$7000 will get you a clean S14 or a clean S13 and several thousand dollars left over for some mods.

Has anyone else noticed the increase of guys DSM and all wanting to get rid and move to Nissan? Its amazing.

With that kind of cash, you should be able to make a pretty nice s13 or an slightly mod'd s14. Id personally go s13.5 with a blacktop sr20. mmmm sweet

Now the s13 and s14 what is the difference in appearance?

ermm, search them on google.....s13=flip ups,fastback or coupe, boxier, infamous tails

s14=coupe only, sexy curves, no popups, look at 95-96 and look at the 97s they have diff headlights.

you're "seriousley considering" this car already and you don't even know the difference between an S13 and S14?

i suggest you do a shitload of research before even LOOKING at buying a 240SX.

Yea man...i read the FAQ 5 times over before i even started to consider a 240 and i didn't didn't ask questions till then. Get to know more about 240's before you consider one. If i were you i would get a S14 (95-98) imo. But they're alot of people who like the S13 better then the S14. Good luck and happy researching.

okay, i know the specs, performance, etc.....of the 240SX, because a couple of my teammates have them. However, I wasn't 100% CLEAR on the difference between the S13 & S14's looks . I now know, however, that it'll b an S13 (so i can keep my eclipse) and i'll do a 180SX conversion.

By 180sx conversion u mean getting the tailights and getting either an sr20 or ca18?
Or u want a sileighty (s13.5) ?

On the 180SX there's also a different front bumper, it has different turn signals. They're square.

If I where you mate I would take the money and go on Yahoo Auctions Japan and find yourself a clean 180sx sr20det for around 5-6kUS. Fuck off those hideous ka24's they belong on a pintara trx and nothing else...

no....that's only the newest version of 180SX. the '89-'90 and '91-'94 180SX's looked identical to ours (same bumpers) with only very minor differences.

Yeah, but only the Type-X had the different taillights to, which is the later model.
