I have a 1999 chrysler town and country limited with the 10 speaker infinity system. I am experiencing clipping (speakers cutting in and out)when the volume (especially the bass) is turned up. I have been told that there is no central amp, the amps are on each speaker, it is an amp problem, it is a ground problem, it is a head unit problem. All of these comments have come form different local car stereo dealers. Does anyone have any knowledge about this problem? If there is an amp in the system, does anyone know wher it is located?

I have a 2000 T&C with the same system. I am also experiencing the same problem. Have you had any luck with the diagnosis? Anyone else out there able to help???
Thanks! |

Good news! Fixed my clipping problem! The cause was actually a badly grounded wire deep under the dash. The dealer fixed this issue for me at an extremely reasonable cost after making a huge mistake with something else. Took them almost 7 hours to locate the cause. Good ol' Chrysler electrics!

Hello,
I currently have a 1995 chrysler town and country minivan. Only god knows how many miles it has. Probally over 170,000. I too have had an speaker problem in the front right speaker. The sound comes out muffled. When i blast the sound for a hot sec, the sound comes back. I was wondering if anyone knows the wattage rating on the rear and front speakers. i have the 6 or 7 surround, with built in amps on them. Thank You |
