Ideas

Just bought Racing Seats, and my Four Point Harnesses are here today. They are both black, but my interior is the brownish or tanish color. Any ideas on what kind of material i should use on the back seats? I was thinking like a crushed velvet... i would also use that on the headliner. Now, the carpet is another issue. Would i be able to replace it myself by just buying some carpet from a carpet store and just trying to mold it myself, or would i have to buy a molded carpet set? Also, i would be needing to do some work on the panels on the inside of the car. Would painting them work out well? Or should i try and find an eclipse that was in a wreck and try to strip the inside panels out of it? Well, let me know what you guys think!!

Re: Ideas

For the interior panels, get high gain sandpaper and sand it. It will take a few days. Afterwards, cover it with a clearcoat and you will have reflective paneling.

Re: Ideas

Well, although that is a good idea, i would like to have them black with a clear coating over them! Right now, they are that tan color, and when i sand them, it will just stay that same color!

Re: Ideas

Then you can paint it black, then clearcoat. You will want to use about 5 coats of paint, btw.

Re: Ideas

I have plenty of time on my hands to do it! I get out of work everyday at 330 or earlier, and its a quick 10 minute drive home! So, i can have panels out and whatever else i want out for that day! I can paint before i leave for work, and the paint again when i get home from work! 2 coats a day isnt bad, and it may take a while, but ill be able to finish the car in about 2 months or so i think
