What would u do to a H22 BEFORE you installed it?

Guys,

I just got a H22 motor for my Accord. I'm not going to install it probably for another month or two. Alot of people tell me different things to do to it before I put it in. Obviously, it would be alot easier to do anything to it when it is out of the car. But what would you guys suggest to ABSOLUTELY do before I do the swap? Of course, money is an object especially after dumping $2200 on the motor, not to mention all the little things I'm gonna need to do the swap. In other words... tell me I would be a F$#@! idiot if I didn't do _______ before the swap!! Let me know...

MIke

Re: What would u do to a H22 BEFORE you installed it?

I'd check the transmission for syncro for wear (but just because my buddy blew up his tranny literally from bad syncros.) I'd replace T-belt, clutch and flywheel, plugs and wires; all the regular stuff that should be replaced when you're dealing with a used engine. Beyond that I'd wait to make sure the motor runs well and do a compression test before doing anything crazy to it. Especailly if you end up running into problems with broken or malfunctioning parts when you start up; you wouldn't have spent all your $ on other stuff you could have lived without.

t-belt, crank seal, cam seal, balancer shaft seal, water pump, rear main seal, and check the oil pan gasket. All easier to do out of the car.
