Code P0430...What does it mean ??????
As I described in an earlier post my service engine soon light came on the other day in my 96 Tahoe . And thanks to AERO 246 I went to Auto Zone today and was able to read the code. It was "P0430 Three way catalytic converter system low efficiency bank 2" . Does that mean that my catalytic converter is bad ???. I bought the truck three months ago and when I had it smogged here in Calif they said it passed like it was new. If the Cat is bad now it seems like it would of showed up in my smog test.
Does anyone know what the code P0430 means ????? THANKS....................Dave

p0430
P stands for powertrain, 0430 is Catalyst system efficiency below threshold(bank2). Whatever that means.
