A/C Compressor
hi all,
when i switch on the A/C there was a noise coming out the compressor. a local workshop did a check up and told me the compressor is bad not working and gave me $1100 estimate to fix it. after the checkup there is no noise when i switch on the A/C please help

first of all what year is your teg? that sound could be a prelude of what's to come. and i would not pay them that much money to fix the compressor. i would go to one of those you pull it junk yards to get one. my friend needed one for his 94 ls and it was only $60. and it works just fine. but i will ask him what his did before it went.
