Re: white smoke please help

You are burning coolant. Most likely a headgasket problem.

If you don't think you can change a head gasket, you'll be able to get an estimate at the shop you take it to.

Re: white smoke please help

its easy to fix... i am doing mine right now.. its costs about $250 to do yourself.. head studs and various gaskets....can be done cheaper... but i do the right way the first time... might as well do a water pump too... about $55 at autozone...

Re: white smoke please help

Does it stop when the car warms up or after you drive it a bit? You'd be surprised how many people panic, when its jsut some condensation in the exhaust turning to steam. If it doesnt stop though, you may have issues.

If the car is at a mileage that you should be doing the timingbelt anyway, now is the time. Generally, head gasket, timing belt, and water pump are all done together. Since you have to do all the labor anyway, might as well replace as much stuff as you can while youre in there. But if you cant do this kind of work yourself, it can get costly.
