Question i'll bet i can stump you too!

question:

befor i go forking out a ton of cash, and i know i might have to, i just want to be sure i'm getting the right parts to solve my problem. do you know anything about 300zxs? mine is an 84 na. here's the thing... i accidently put a positive jumper cable on the negative lead and grounded the neg cable to the block while i was trying to jump it. the cable on the block started sparking and caught on fire before i knew it. i didn't know i was doing anything wrong at the time, see i usually drive vw's, and the battery is reversed in those cars, with the positive on the left and the neg on the right. this is why i screwed it up. its reversed in the zx. anyway, i put a new battery in there after i did the jump. i also installed this backward in the car for the same reason stated above. also, the fricken neg. cable from the car is red! i'm used to red being the positive color. anyway, nothing in the car would work except the windows and the mirrors, which ran backward of course. oh, and the fuel pump would run in reverse when the acc switch was turned on with the key. finally i figured out what the hell i had done wronge, but not befor trying the ignition a couple dozen times. when i finally got the battery in there right, the car was dead. nothing. i tracked that down to the battery fusable link in the engine compartment, wired a new fusable link, then did the same with the rest of them except the power windows just to be safe. well, that got the car up again, everything works- except the radio and the voice warning system-also the car will turn over but never even tries to start. it just sits there and turns and turns but no starting. i know its not the gas because i used a can and put in a couple gallons which made the fuel gauge react which means that works too. i have taken out the distributor because i ran the diagnostic lights on the eccs and got 11 as the first of many codes. my haynes says that it could be the crank angle sensor, but i checked it over and it doesn't look fried. and the sensor wouldn't account for the radio and voice not working. do you have any insight? did i just write a book for nothing? if you could help me out, or maybe point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it. thanks for your help.
