gauges not working

I have an 85 cj 7. My temp and fuel gauge havent worked for some time. When I bought it, they worked, but I am not sure that I wired them back correctly, and might have shorted them out. Does anyone have a schematic, or a picture of what goes where? they may be right, but with both gauges acting up, I just cant figure it out. Thanks

Re: gauges not working

onething you could do to figure out the wires is get a voltmeter, then test the wires as you start the car, the temp gauge positive wire should climb steadily the longer it runs and the fuel will stay about the same but slowly drop eventually. im just guessing that that is the way it works, that's how i found my tachometer (rpm gauge) wire.
