Oil Odometer

My oil odometer isn't going up at all but I checked my oil from the engine and I do have enough oil in there. Does anyone know how to fix the odometer?

OK, I dont know if you already did this but check the oil pressure sensor under your car. get on the bottom of the car. the unit is behind the oil pan. its on the driver side behind the pan. just look for a tiny wire with a metal contact at the end of it. its supposed to go hooked up to the tiny and I mean tiny metal button( about 1 to 1.5 cm circle) kinda looks like a shirt button. if you cant find it I can post some pics by tommorrow.

It is above the climate controlls in the center of the dash with the heat and battery gauges, if you have a 3000GT that is, I have never seen them on other cars.

Re: Oil Odometer

Musashi3000GT, I haven't had time to go under the car yet. I'll do it after class today. If possible, could you post some pictures? That way I'll know what I'm looking for. Thanks for the help.

Igovert500, yes, the oil pressure gauge. LOL I realized last night that it's not called the oil odometer. My badd!!

sweet, see the last picture? the copper collored bell looking thing in the center. that is the sender. the black thing with the wire leading out to the top is the sensor. they should be connected like in the pic.

yeah man, its an SL, a 94. Just look under the car. follow the oil pan, its on the back. as you can see from the pic its right on top of the cv joint, drivers side. you can even see the belt from the powersteering cross right next to it. I seriously dont think it was moved on other models cause the engines where never changed on our cars, so to relocate would mean some serious moving around of the lower block.

Re: Oil Odometer

Is it on the front or back of the car?

front. the easiest way to get to it is to jack it up on the front, drivers side. take off the front driver side tire. now look at the back side of the oil pan (the side facing the rear of the car). follow with your finger to where the oil pan meets the enging block. right there is the cylindrical shaped thing in the pic. if you can locate the cv joint you should be right on the sucker. its right above it. and it has to be there, we drive the same cars 94 n/a's.
