oh no, another race story?

so really, i thought my last post would be my only one, and then i my friend reminded me of another (more embarrasing) moment in my racing history. this one goes a little something like this.

the scene: im cruising the main drag a little early one friday night, trying to get a feel for the cop presence

the buildup: i pull up to a stop light (tends to be the racing stoplight...little to no cops, no cross streets, can usually get up to around 65 before you have to slow down) and as im pulling up, i look over and theres this clean looking black civic coupe (i wanna say '99) with white OEM ground effects (you know, the ones that basically just extend the body, nothing flashy at all?) and white product stickers on the black right above it. topped off with about a 2 inch drop on some 16-17" motegis and a very nice looking muffler. best of all, the driver was an absolutely gorgeous 17 year old asian girl that went to my school (at this time i was 18) and apparently this was her weekend car. so im thinking "easy kill man, and ill get the props for having a fast car, maybe even get a number after the run" (it tends to be the custom here that after a run, you pull into a gas station and talk shop) so i rev the old engine.

the race: she then revs back, but not to high...must not know whats shes doing eh? the cross light turns red, so i get up the revs..and then the green light, and i drop it hard...nice launch, i hooked up pretty well, and i was going. we were pretty even through first, but as i was reaching for second gear she pulls on me, hard....oh shit, i think, shes squeezing/ls swap/h22a swap etc....and then i hear it. the dreaded blow off valve. bam, she was gone. like nothing id ever seen on the streets. i limped defeated into the parking lot of the nearest station, grabbed a dr pepper and waited....she rolled by the station, flipped me the bird, and i havent seen her since.

what a b!tch, if she's gonna beat you, she should at least pull over and let you redeem yourself, not give you the finger and leave. The finger should be reserved for those idiots whose bad driving ruins the race or puts your car in danger...not the drivers involved in the race...that is what the thumb is for.

retyping this story prompted me to find out what she was doing now...so i decided to ask around.

apparently shes a car hop at a local sonic attending a community college in an attempt to become a dentists assistant.

she still has the car, though apparently she got side swiped on the highway and its not as nice looking anymore, though its still runs like a demon...

thanks for the update and that's a really sad story, not your first one but the second one about the car etting hurt, but nice to hear it still runs great
