Boosting!

OK- I'm going to throw this out there, but I don't know how safe it is, so try at your own risk. Tonight I decided to try something I'm going to call "boosting", and I had the most productive workout of my entire life, hands down. I took 3 days off and kept my protein and water levels very high. Tonight I drank a double protein shake, a liter of water and TWO two-serving sized cans of LO-CARB MONSTER ENERGY DRINK (10 cals/3g carbs) before upper body. I ran a mile to get it working and I TOOK...OFF... Now I know why OZ swears by this kind of shit. I upped all my weights by 5-10, had an incredibly high energy level throughout and maintained the best "pump" I've ever felt. I had so much blood rushing to my upper body I kept getting foot and leg cramps. I took my share of uppers in college, but this was just as good as any of em...which leads me to believe it's not all that safe. I may try boosting once a month. By all means try this Monster stuff, though. Then you can tell me if it's all in my head or what. If you have a heart attack, though...we never met...

simple carbs are necessary to consume about an hour before any strenous activity. (take sugar, eat a candybar, i dont care.)
the best way to consume simple carbs is through OJ, bananas, strawberries, kiwis...
always train on an empty or almost empty stomach. this is so the blood in you body can maintain its focus on the work you want to do, and not digesting.
if that stuff works for you why not keep on doing it? it has somewhat of a placebo effect, but just so you know-the long term effects are not known. be safe.
