97 Regal Turn Signal/Running Light Problem

My left front and rear turn signal and left daylight running light work fine. However, there are problems with the right side. The inside dash arrow clicks twice as fast as normal. The right rear signal works but flashes twice as fast as normal. The right front signal light and daylight running light do not work. I replaced the front bulb and checked all the pertinent fuses in the cabin and under the hood and they looked fine. Is there a turn signal relay somewhere on my car that I can unplug and replace or is this problem more complicated? Thanks.

My girlfriend's '99 Intrigue (very similar car) had the same problem not long ago. Hers was the right side. I checked the front right bulb and it looked fine at a glance. I moved the bulb around a little bit while it was on and I noticed that it worked intermittently as I moved it. I removed the bulb and found that the plastic base of the bulb got really hot and melted a little near the filament terminals. I assumed that the connection might just have been bad and the heat from the resistance in the socket caused the melting. I cleaned up the bulb terminals. I also removed her bulb socket and scraped them with a small flat blade precision screwdriver to make sure it was clean and pryed them outward a little to ensure a good solid connection with the bulb. She hasn't had the problem since and it's been over two months. She had the same problem with the left cornering light last summer. I did the same to that light and it still works fine. I used the same bulbs for both. I also used a little bulb grease when I reinstalled them.

I hope this helps.
