Angry I lost 2nd gear!

i have a 94 chevy w/t with an automatic. all of the sudden today without any previous trouble, it wont shift into 2nd. it just winds up like its slipping. all the other gears are solid. all the shifts are firm except from 1-2. whats up? i'm hoping i wont have to get anything major done.

Re: I lost 2nd gear!

If its a 60LE... its probably toast.... You can probably buy a rebuilt one for around 800 installed.... Good luck!

Re: I lost 2nd gear!

If you have a 3/4 ton with 8 lug wheels... you probably have a stronger 80LE, if you have a 1/2 ton with 6 lug wheels and a 10 bolt rear end... you probably have a 60LE. My dad's 93 with a 60LE also lost 2nd gear. We had to drive it in 1st at 25 MPH all the way to the trasmission shop for a rebuilt tranny. Hopefully yours is an easier fix! good luck!
