Finally hit the track!!

Well I managed to fix the problems with my car and she was running like a champ! So, I figured I"d get some times. I went to the track last night (tuner tuesdays) and gave it my best. I'm not an incredible driver but I think I did pretty good.

My best time was 10.78 @ 126 (on the bike) hehe. I had to run that too!!

The gst ran a modest 12.98 @ 109. Not too shabby I guess. I borrowed a datalogger from my friend and it helped a TON! Mine should be here soon. (thanks again jake!!) Just thought I'd throw out my times. Thanks to everyone on the forum for your help and knowledge! couldn't have done it without you guys!

Nice numbers man! That's pretty close to the setup that I plan on running w/ my GSX. I can only hope my numbers are that good =) Good job!

Re: Finally hit the track!!

Yeah, find the manual for it.

How much boost are you running? ShapeGSX is running 11.9's on the EVO3 now, though he has cams, dsmlink, 1g head/manifold and ran 24psi with a 29psi spike. 117 octane. Should give an idea of what kind of results you will get from those mods. He doesn't have his turbo ported I don't think.

Re: Finally hit the track!!

Welcome to the 12s! not bad for a wrong wheel drive, well done. High 12s was when my car was the most "fun."

Re: Finally hit the track!!

I was running 21 psi on 93 octane pump gas. I took out my spare tire, and back seat to help with weight. I am getting the CF hood from RichSpyder and I'm gonna run my stock rims on friday night. Hopefully that will help. didn't think about the 18's till I got to the track.

As far as the profec B goes, just piss with it till you figure it out. I read through the manual and it succesfully confused the hell out of me. but it was helpful enough to give me a general idea. I needed to play with the setgain to get it to hold boost (thanks for the pointer vince) I think I'm still running a little lean cause the egt gets kinda high. still not perfectly tuned on the afc. But my datalogger should be here soon and I'll perfect things then. I've just been havin fun tearin things up around town. Nobody has turbo's around here so I kinda run the streets. it's a good feeling to smoke a camaro I'm hopin to shave off a few tenths. maybe get her to mid 12's. We'll see what happens.

Re: Finally hit the track!!

man.. i would think with all that setup you have.. i thought you would get something like mid 12s at least. .. guess i was wrong. SOOOO much money for so little time. LOL

the only thing that's holding me back right now is my tranny. i am saving it up for a big rebuild.

Re: Finally hit the track!!

Unfortunately, money doesnt buy good times

I went mid-high 12s for 1800 bucks, as we all know. 10 grand later, I'm hardly one second faster. It gets exponentially more difficult, and more expensive, as you try to go faster. Mostly because more power equals more breakage. And slower spooling turbos hurt ETs, even if you make more peak power. I've spent more money on driveline failures than most poeple will spend on all thier mods combined. Oh well, thats racing!
