Carbon Fiber In Canada?

Hey guys/gals,

I have been searching and searching for sheets of carbon fiber decals available through Canadian suppliers.

I have been comtemplating ordering CF decals, seats, wings, Body kits, etc...from SAS, but living in Canada, the currency convertion is killing me..and frankly, if I have to order over sea's, I would like to make my order be worth while due to the shipping costs. So..I will continue saving my pennies to place a nice hefty oreder from sas. But in the mean time, I have a project desperatly waiting some CF decals.

I am looking for plain sheets of CF..nothing fancy, no special blue, purple or pink stuff, just a sheet, or several.

The only source I have come across IN Canada is www.modelexpress.com But I seem to be having a rough time finding PLAIN CF...not the stuff for certain kits with templates etc..

Any help would be great, thanks guys.

Re: Carbon Fiber In Canada?

Well. Why is 14$ better than 8$Us ?

I mean conversion have nothing to do. You will pay it anyway.

Go to www.scaleracecars.com. Yes they are based on USA, but the price is very good (the cheapest CF is Renaissance below 6$us (about 8$Cnd, don't tell me it's too much !)
Shipping price is very low (about 3$ ?) and if you make a big order, ask David to do something so you can save customs fees.

I know I'll end up paying it anyways, But, I just find it easier to deal with Canadian shops. Plus...I don't exactly have much funding at the time being, so I am also looking for the cheapest way possible! And usually, dealing in your own country saves $$ in the long run!

Thanks Vric.

Cheapest way is Decal sheets at www.scaleracecars.com
CHeap here

will come you for about 15$cnd shipped (and no custom fees)

I'm from Canada too, for Model, Modelexpress is very good (it's my primary source) but for thing like that, I order from US or Japan.

If you want, there is Racing Mignatures:
http://www.racingminiatures.com/secu...c185164.2.html

but it will come more expensive since you will have to pay shipping (yes, shipping is higher even if it's in Canada..) and you will have to pay taxes

Finally, another Canadian! WOOHOO

Thanks for all the help Vric! Greatly appreciated, and I buy the majority of my kits from Dennis aswell, anything else, local stores, or Walmart. All my local hobby shops are mainly military, with small automotive sections, and EXTREMELY over priced.

Thank you so much!

Re: Carbon Fiber In Canada?

I have one Local hobby shop.. Incredibly overpriced (even if I have a discount) This is why I order online everytime. and Hobbyshop in canada are bad. Only Modelexpress have good service and price.

Try www.scaleracecars.com. I had good service so far with them

Hi SonyMobile,
You might be surprised at how little shipping can be from the USA. I use an interface with the US postal system to calculate postage based on wieght and since decals weigh next to nothing they are very inexpensive to ship as are photo etched detail sets etc.. You can get the exact cost for shipping on every page of the website. All you do is place the item in the shopping cart and a new window pops up on the top left. Click shipping rates and you can enter your destination address and you will see all possible shipping options and their cost.
Best Regards,
David

Great, thanks for the info David, I plan on making an order within the next few weeks. But..It all depends on how much I spend on "Beverages" next week...there are several parties in town, Canada day..hehe

But, I hate to be a pest, but, what are the sizes of the decal sheets?
I noticed the Renaissance Carbon decals are out of stock, so I will check back later, but it also shows a ruler that measures 20mm...the sheet is bigger than 20mm isnt it?

Thanks for the great help guys! And a great site you have david, I have been browsing all day, and am just drooling over all the different products...sometimes I wish I was rich!

Thank you all.

Devon

The Renaissance decal sheets are a little larger than Scale Motorsport decals. The scale is so you can determine the size of the pattern in the Renaissance sheet.
